 Bill and Lyn Shirley

Bill and Lyn Shirley

Bill and Lyn Shirley are co-owners of Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes in Kokomo and are stockholders at the locations in Greentown and Burlington. Bill Shirley attended Ball State University and Indiana College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1961. As a licensed funeral director, he came to Kokomo and went to work at the Fenn Funeral Home. After the retirement of John Fenn, he purchased interest in the firm and in 2005, became a partner with Jeff Stout. Lyn is a retired Kokomo teacher, having spent 30 years in the classroom. Since retiring from teaching, she has worked in the funeral home as a hostess, preneed counselor and bookkeeper. The Shirleys have three grown sons and eight grandchildren.


   
Jeff Stout

Jeff Stout

Jeff Stout is the owner of Stout & Son Funeral Homes in Russiaville and Burlington and co-owner of Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes in Kokomo and Hasler-Stout Funeral Home in Greentown. He graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science and is a licensed funeral director. He is the Father of five children; one graduated college and is a nurse in Indianapolis, while  two are in college and two in high school.

Bob and Nancy Hasler

Bob Hasler, a funeral director, came to Greentown from Muncie and went to work for Gene Pickett in the Pickett Funeral Home, having graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science. When Gene retired in 1981, Bob purchased the business and later became a partner with Jeff Stout, and the business is now known as Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, with Bill Shirley as a stockholder. The Haslers are also stockholders of Shirley & Stout. Nancy is very involved with the business but both she and Bob also enjoy time spent in Ft. Myers, Fl during the Indiana winters.


   
Matt & Debbie Grecu

Matt & Debbie Grecu

Matt & Debbie Grecu are stockholders in the Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes in Kokomo.  Matt, a licensed funeral director, has been involved with funeral service for over 20 years having graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service. He and Debbie were raised in Kokomo and are Taylor High School graduates. Debbie teaches 4th grade at Redeemer Lutheran School. They are the parents of  one son and twin daughters.

Brian is a licensed funeral director, serving in the funeral industry since 2008. He was raised in Kokomo and is a graduate of Kokomo High School and Ivy Tech School of Mortuary Science. He and his wife, Peggy, have two sons and a daughter. Peggy is a registered nurse working at Waterford Place Health Campus.


   
Jason Bostwick

Jason is a licensed funeral director and  received his training through The Ivy Tech Mortuary Science program, graduating in 2010 with an Associate of Applied Science degree.  He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis.  Jason is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the First Gulf War.  When Jason is not working, he enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, reading and going to the movies.  Jason and his wife, Julie, live in Russiaville.


   
Hope Oaks

Hope Oaks
After Care Coordinator

Hope Oaks is serving her internship in funeral service by working  at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory.  Hope is a Kokomo native and a Taylor High School graduate as well as a 2011 graduate of the School of Mortuary Science.  She also holds a BS degree from Ball State University.  She and her husband Brian are the parents of one daughter, Eileen, who is a freshman at Ithaca College in New York.   Hope is well-known for playing bagpipes and often does so for funerals.
